With Food Rescue University, partners learn to launch and scale effective food recovery organizations.

About Food Rescue University

Food Rescue University is an educational resource for launching and growing food rescue organizations. This innovative tool offers in-depth courses based on the collective successes of 412 Food Rescue in Pittsburgh and our partner food rescue organizations in other cities.

The Food Rescue University (FRU) tool offers six courses, covering topics that include the basics of food rescue, technology, dispatch, working with food donors and nonprofit partners, and recruiting volunteers.

Paired with the Food Rescue Hero platform, FRU’s goal is to provide everything an organization needs to create and/or grow a food rescue program in their city.

Food Rescue Hero network members have full access to Food Rescue University where they can learn everything from the basics of how to use FRH technology to how to pitch potential donors.

Free resources are also available to those who are interested in learning more about food rescue.
