Abbe Stern is the Food Pharmacy Manager and Food Justice Program Coordinator for the Center for Health Equity at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Prior to 2020 Abbe worked in hospitality management directing operations and events at the Rittenhouse Hotel, where she started a nonprofit called Fooding Forward that dealt with food recovery from hospitality events which then went to feed communities in need. With the onset of COVID-19 Abbe transitioned to working for Broad Street Ministry and the City of Philadelphia where she managed the city’s outdoor meal program, Step Up to the Plate, a prepared meals program that sent restaurant meals to nonprofits who would then distribute the meals into the community for free.
