Food Rescue Hero is happy to announce that My Father’s Table has officially joined the Food Rescue Hero Network and their region is now available in the Food Rescue Hero app!

The North Dakota-based food rescue organization is the eighteenth partner to join the Food Rescue Hero Network by adopting use of the proprietary technology to coordinate food rescues and maintain detailed reporting.

In North Dakota, Feeding America estimates that 7.5% of children and 2.8% of seniors live in food insecure households. When the legislature amended the Good Samaritan Act in 2023 to allow surplus wholesome food to be distributed without the risk of liability, My Father’s Table was born.

“When restaurants, kitchens, or stores have ‘good’ food at the end of the day, it often gets tossed out. Our goal is to encourage these organizations to reach out to us instead. When we get an alert that food is available, our team goes out and picks it up and gets it redistributed. Whether it be to hungry individuals, soup kitchens, or shelters, we don’t want good food to go to waste.”

Food Rescue Hero is proud to support My Father’s Table in their continued efforts to reduce food waste and food insecurity in their surrounding community, and looks forward to celebrating the expanded impact in North Dakota as a result of My Father’s Table’s important work.
