GIS Systems Engineer - Allegheny County Department of Information Technology

Melinda Angeles has worked as a GIS Systems Engineer in the Department of Information Technology in Allegheny County since 2015. She is passionate about reducing waste and became one of the first volunteers for 412 Food Rescue, an organization that redistributes food that would have otherwise been thrown away to people who are food insecure. She was recognized for her many food rescues, initial marketing for the organization, and outreach activities when she was named the organization’s “All-Star Hero” in 2016, “Rescue Warrior” in 2017, and highlighted as one of the organization’s top 100 volunteers. She was honored to be asked to work on 412 Food Rescue’s updated 2021 Impact Study.
